South Asia Competition 

  • This section is open to only feature-length films (fiction/documentary/animation / any genre). 
  • The minimum duration of a feature-length film is 60 minutes.
  • The films must have been completed after October 1, 2022.
  • The South Asian competition is open to films from the following South Asian countries - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka. 

South Asia Non-Competition 

  • This section is open to films of all durations (shorts / mid-length / feature) and all formats and genres (fiction/documentary/animation / any other). 
  • The films must have been completed after October 1, 2023.
  • The South Asian Non-Competition Section is open to films from the following South Asian countries - Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

World Cinema 

  • This is a non-competition section open to only feature-length films (fiction/documentary/animation / any other). 
  • The minimum duration of a feature-length film is 60 minutes. 
  • The films must have been completed after October 1, 2022. 
  • The World Cinema section is open to films from any country around the world.

Q. Are there any age restrictions for attending the festival?

A. Yes, you must be 18 or older to attend the film festival.


Q. Can someone else collect my festival badge on my behalf?

A. Badges must be collected in person, with a valid photo ID. In special cases, you can collect a badge for someone else with an authorization letter signed by the badge holder and their valid photo ID.

Q. What do I need to carry when I go to pick up my festival badge?

A. Bring the confirmation email/SMS, valid photo ID (Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card, or Driver's License). For Accredited Press badges, show the approval email from the Jio MAMI Team. Senior Citizen badges require a government-approved ID verifying age.

Q. What can I do if I lose my festival badge?

A. Lost badges cannot be replaced. You'll need to re-register for a new badge.

Q. Are the festival badges transferable? Can I use someone else's badge?

A. Festival badges are non-transferable. Sharing or misuse is not allowed, and admission may be refused for such cases.
