Makar Sankranti Jaipur - Celebrations at the Kite Festival
The Jaipur Kite Festival, also known as the International Kite Festival, has become a huge event with people from all over the country taking part. It's held at the Chaughan Stadium, also known as the Jaipur Polo Ground, which is split into two parts.
Kite War:
Participants engage in a fierce battle to cut each other's kites over the three days. The winner is determined by who cuts the most kites.
Kite Flying Session:
This is a friendly activity where people of all ages participate. Both kids and adults can be seen flying kites. While adults prefer traditional square-shaped kites, kids love ones with cartoon faces and unusual shapes.
Food and Snacks at the Festival
Besides the Kite Festival venue, the whole town is filled with festive vibes and excitement. Sweet treats are made and stalls are set up all around. Even at the Polo Ground, you'll find many stalls selling sweets, snacks, and drinks, including Rajasthani specialties like phirni, daal ki pakodi, til laddoo, and more.
