Built in the 10th Century AD Nizamabad Fort is one of the famous forts situated in Nizamabad built on a small hill to the south west of Telangana.
It is believed that the fort has been built on the temple of Lord Ram.
The Nizamabad Fort was built by Rashtraputha king in 10th century. later on it was renovated by Kakatiyas. In 1311, It was captured by Alauddin Khilji and later it was captured by the Bahamanis, Qutub Shahis and the Asaf Jahis who were the Nizams of Hyderabad.
The fort is built in Nizam style, having a spacious hall, a temple and a summer house.
In order to reach Nizamabad Fort one needs to trek up the small hill.
