The Gwalior mela will begin from December 25, 2024 and will go on for 2 months. This time the government has decided to offer a 50% discount on road tax on cars purchased at the trade fair. 

The fair started in 1905 as a cattle fair and has evolved over the years to become one of the largest fair and historic events.

Things to Explore at Gwalior Mela

  • Automobile Sector: A major attraction this year is the 50% reduction in registration fees for vehicles purchased during the fair. This concession applies to non-transport vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, private omni buses, and light vehicles. To avail of this benefit, vehicles must be registered with the Gwalior Regional Transport Office (RTO). 
  • Cultural Events: Attendees can look forward to a variety of cultural programs, including "Haasya Kavi Sammelan" (poet gatherings), "Qawwali" performances, and musical nights, enriching the fair's vibrant atmosphere. 
  • Exhibitions: The fair features numerous stalls from national and international brands, offering products ranging from electronics to automobiles. 
  • Shopping and Food: Additionally, there are amusement rides, food zones, and a dedicated "Shilp Bazaar" showcasing handcrafted items from artisans across India. 

Gwalior Trade Fair Entry Tickets 

The entry to the fair is free. Hence you can visit the fair without any reservations. However, you will be required to pay for food, shopping and activities.

Along with the trade fair, the "Farm-Tech India 2025" exhibition is set to happen from February 21 to 24 at the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya campus in Gwalior.
