Tyakal Hill is one of the lesser known treks around Bangalore. It is a wonderful trek, the hill offers odd shaped rocks and beautiful views of Shatashringa hills.
Historically also Tyakal is famous for its Varadaraja Temple built by Cholas which is believed to have similar features as that of Temple at Kanchi. Also it is believed that in earlier times Tekal has 101 places to worship, 101 water bodies and 101 cannons.
Tyakal hill is situated close to the Tyakal Railway station. A small walk will take you to the base of the hill. It is partially inclined and there is no particular pathway to trek.
It could take 1 hour or 90 minutes to reach on the top of the hill. There are small caves on the top of the hill which you can explore.
How to reach Tyakal
You can reach Tyakal through train from Bangalore. Tyakal is on Bangalore - Chennai line. Also you can take KSRTC buses from Bangalore to Tyakal or Malur.
