In 1533 CE Humayun made Purana Qila in Delhi. The northern gate of the purana qila is called Talaqi Darwaza which has been closed for years and that gate was made by Emperor Sher Shah Suri.
It was stated in the folk tales that no one is allowed to open that gate until the King returns Victorious and unfortunately, the king never came back so the gate remains closed forever. The Gate is also called as Forbidden Gate because in old times Raja used to be the one who passed through the Gate so automatically it was forbidden for common people to pass through that door. This structure was made up of red stone and stunning Mughal architecture makes it stand out among other well-known tourist destinations in Delhi.
