Jhiri Mela is celebrated every year in the month of November for 10 days in Jammu. It begins on Karthik Poornima and attracts lakhs of visitors who come to pay tribute to Baba Jitto. This year, the Jhiri Mela started on November 14 and will continue for 10 days.
The fair is also known as the "Farmers' Fair," as a large number of farmers gather to sell their sugarcane crops. On Karthik Poornima, visitors take a dip in the Talab and visit the temple to seek blessings from Baba Jitto and Bua Kodi Mata.

About Baba Jitto
This fair honors Baba Jitto, a 16th-century Dogra hero, honest farmer, and devoted follower of Mata Vaishno Devi. He stood up against injustice and sacrificed his life after being wronged by a landlord. Pilgrims visit Jhiri village to pay their respects to Baba Jitto. The fair symbolizes unity, honesty, courage, truth, and innocence while showcasing the rich culture of the region.
