One of the most famous temples of Indore city is the Khajrana Ganesh Temple which the Maratha Queen Ahilyabai Holkar built. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most famous festivals, drawing thousands of devotees to the temple to seek blessings. The celebration is marked by vibrant processions, elaborate decorations, and a deep sense of devotion.
It is believed that the idol was hidden in a well to protect it from Aurangzeb. Finally, in 1735, Rani Ahilyabai Holkar retrieved the idol and established the temple at its current location.
