Kailasagiri Betta is a small hill for trekking which has a cave temple located on the top. The Kialasagiri Betta is at a distance of 7 km from Kaiwara. Kaiwara is a small town famous for Saint Kaiwara Thatayya Ashram and temple. The Kailasagiri betta trek is short. It is believed that Pandavas stayed here for a while during their exile.
While you can trek to the Kailasagiri Betta and enjoy the landscape view of the town and the cave temple you can also visit Kiawara for a better experience.

Kailasagiri Betta Trek
The trek begins with steps leading to steeper roads. One can easily trek to the top of the hill provided you stay hydrated. You can carry snacks and water during the trek as no shops are nearby.
Once you reach up you can visit the cave temple made by humans with Lord Shiva and Maa Durga statues. You can spend some time at the temple meditating and relaxing.

On the way to Kailagiri Betta, you can visit Kaiwara town which has many temple complexes. Kaiwara is a well-known place for the Karnataka great bilingual poet Sri Yogi Kaiwara Narayana Taatha.
Places to visit at Kaiwara are:

- Shri Amaranarayana Swami Temple
- Bheema-Bakasura Betta - This is a small hill with 500 steps that lead you to Chamundi Temple on top and a natural spring called Lakshman Thirtha. It is said that Bheema and Bhakasura fought here during the Mahabharata.
- Vaikunta Betta - You can also trek to Vaikunta Betta which is also a small hill and is said that Kaiwara Tatayya had meditated and attained enlightenment in this cave.

- Parking space is available at the starting point.
- Start hiking early morning or late evening to avoid the sun
- Do not litter the area and the temple premises.
- Stay alert while trekking as there are monkeys on the way.
- If you are traveling from far make sure to fuel up your vehicle as there are no petrol pumps nearby.
