Global Vipassana Pagoda was set up on February 8, 2009. One of the largest meditation halls in the world with a capacity of about 8000 vipassana meditors is this Global Vipassana Pagoda. This has been named “One of the Seven Wonders of Maharashtra” by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) with ABP Majha news channel.
It was built to look like the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar, showing India’s thanks to Myanmar for keeping Vipassana Meditation pure when it was lost in India.
