Cubbon Park was established in the year 1870 by Sir John Meade. Cubbon Park was initially named “Meade’s Park and later many changes took place in the park and was officially renamed “Sri Chamarajendra Park” in 1927 to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Sri. Krishnaraja Wodeyar’s rule in Mysore State.
This park is surrounded by lakhs of trees there giving you a fresh feel of nature in the busy city. It is spread across 300 acres in the middle of the city.

- State Archeological Museum: The Government Museum is one of the oldest museums in the country. This museum has the first ever recorded Kannada inscription - The Halmidi inscription and Atakur inscription. You can also explore stone carvings, pottery, paintings, and coins here. This museum is open daily from 10 AM - 5 PM except Mondays.
- Attara Kacheri: It was built in the year 1864 with red stones and housed the Karnataka High Court.
- Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall: built in the early 20th- century, the building houses the central Library with over 2 lakh books and a special collection dedicated to Braille books and manuscripts. It is a 2- 2-level library with a lot of seating space and book varieties.
