Ramanuja Statue
The Ramanuja Statue is called the Statue of Equality because it was proposed by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami of Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram in 2014 to commemorate Sri Ramanujacharya’s 1000th birth anniversary. This statue is intended to raise awareness about Ramanuja’s life and philosophy, providing a place for daily worship.
Ramanuja advocated for social equality among all sections of society, including across religions, castes, social status, and gender. According to Chinna Jeeyar Swami, Ramanujacharya's social philosophy aimed to embrace all of humanity.
Given Ramanuja's emphasis on devotion to God, equality, and mutual respect, the JIVA trust named this statue the Statue of Equality.
